Rules

1. The game is played on two 10 x 10 grids, one for each player.

2. Before play begins, each player arranges their ships on their grid.

3. The ships are placed either horizontally or vertically.

4. The ships cannot overlap (i.e., only one ship can occupy any given square in the grid).

5. The ships occupy from 1 to 5 squares, depending on the size of the ship.

6. The sizes and numbers of ships are the same for each player.

7. After the ships have been positioned, the game proceeds in a series of rounds.

8. In each round, each player takes a turn to attack a target square in the opponent's grid.

9. If a ship occupies the square, then it is a hit, otherwise, it is a miss.

10. The player who hits all the squares of the opponent's ships first wins the game.
